Jerry Roger Stafford Sr., age 75 of Paintsville passed away September 26, 2012 at Highlands Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg. Born May 17, 1937 in Scioto County, Ohio to the late Ray Stafford and Emma Taylor Stafford. He is survived by his wife, Bethel Smallwood Johnson Stafford of Paintsville; two sons, Terry R. (Jill) Stafford of Durham, NC, Jerry R. Stafford Jr. of Pikeville, KY; one very special stepson, Leroy Johnson Jr. of Staffordsville; two daughters, Shari (Herbert) Midkiff of Kenova, WV, Anna Mae Stafford of Crossville, Tenn; one very special stepdaughter, Becki (John) Woods of Clay City; one brother, Tommy Michael (Kathy) Stafford of Chillicothe, Ohio; three sisters, Sara (James) Lowman of Latham, Ohio, Brenda (Junior) Music of Oyster Creek, TX, Judy Groves of Chillicothe, Ohio; sixteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be Saturday September 29, at 1 PM at the First Freewill Baptist Church on Third Street in Paintsville with burial to follow in the Lake View Memorial Cemetery at Staffordsville.
Larry Blair and Toby Wheeler will officiate. Friends may visit the church from 6-9PM Thursday and Friday evening. Arrangements are by the Phelps and Son Funeral Home of Paintsville.
