John H. Stafford, 62, died Friday May 9, 1980 in J. J. Jordan Geriatric
Center, Louisa, after an extended illness.
Born December 7, 1917, at Boons Camp, he was the son of John and Gypsy Penix Stafford. He was a county official and farmer and a member of the United Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son, William L. Stafford, and a daughter, Mary Jo Stafford, Baltimore, Md.; two brothers, Dickie and Gary Stafford, Martin County; two sisters, Rosie Bowen, Martin County, and Hattie Banks, Whitesburg; and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 13, in his Boons Camp residence with burial in the Family Cemetery, Boons Camp.
Jones-Preston Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
