  Marion Stafford Ballinger, 90, of Lexington, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2018. Marion was born in Jessamine County on April 9, 1927, the daughter of Thomas and Ethel Stafford. She was a longtime teacher in the Fayette County schools, and helped students develop an appreciation for music they would cherish forever. Her bright spirit and lively sense of humor were a delight to all. Marion is survived by her son, Steve Ballinger (Lynne); grandchildren, Anne Marie Zimmerman (Kelly), Robynn Lyons (Bobby), Kimberly Ballinger, Hillary Ballinger, and Ryan Ballinger; and 3 great-grandchildren. Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Earl, on February 16, 2012, and her son Robert on May 25, 2016. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, at Kerr Bros.
