  Mildred "Niece" Tipton, age 87, of Switzer, W.Va., formerly of Pie, W.Va., departed this life on Wednesday September 19, 2012, at the Trinity Healthcare Services of Logan, W.Va. A daughter of the late Fred and Martha Garland Stafford, Niece was born on July 27, 1925, in Mingo County, W.Va. Niece was a homemaker and of the Baptist Faith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Tipton; son, Buford Tipton; grandson, Steven Tipton; 1 brother and 8 sisters. Niece leaves to honor her loving memory and mourn her passing sisters, Eva Herndon of Switzer, W.Va., and Lucille Roberts of Beckley, W.Va; a host of nieces, nephews, loved ones, and friends, and will be sadly missed by those who knew her and held her close. Funeral service at the Chambers Funeral Services with the Rev. Tennis Vance officiating. Burial in the Staten Cemetery, Pie, W.Va.
