  Son of Fred N. Stafford and Sadie Ellen Medcalf who later married Leonard Newell. Ted played professionally with Tiny Meeker Band in the 40's and 50's and played the clarinet and saxophone. After retiring he was a member of the Soldiers Home Band and member of DC Federation of Musicians, Local 161-170. Survivors include wife, Alma Lunsford, Jean, Mary Ann, Carole and John J.  Funeral services conducted at the Church of the Ascension.
