Myrtle Stafford Perdue, 86 of Pearisburg, (Bear Springs Community, Va.), passed away Tuesday morning, July 5, 2005 at Carilion Giles Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Perdue was born on June 7, 1919 in Bear Springs, VA, (Pearisburg) and was a daughter of the late Kyle Stafford and Sadie Kirk Stafford. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, A. (Ken) McKinley Perdue, one son, Clinton Perdue and a grandson, Darren Perdue, five brothers and one sister. Mrs. Perdue was a member of the Wesley's Chapel Methodist Church. She is survived by one son, Jeff Perdue and Nancy Weiss of Ripplemead, one brother-in-law, George Perdue, one sister, Ernestine Parcell of Rich Creek, Va., three grandchildren, Dean and Amanda Perdue of Trigg, Jessica and James Dick of Dublin and Jason and Amanda Perdue of Trigg, Va. and six great-grandchildren, Cassie, Hayley, Austin and Alyssa Perdue, Skyler Lucado and Michaela Douthat. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 7, 2005 at the Givens Funeral Chapel in Pearisburg with the Rev. Betty Roberts officiating with burial following in the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the Givens Funeral Home in Pearisburg Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. The family will gather at 816 Bear Springs Rd.
