  Mary Elizabeth Haddix, age 95, a resident of Volga, passed away Sunday September 6, 2009 in United Hospital Center. Mrs. Haddix had made her home for the past 12 years with her daughter Janet Stout. She was born March 23, 1914 in Hall, WV a daughter of the late Henry and Josephine (Mitchell) Stafford. She was united in marriage August 18, 1934 to Homer Haddix who preceded her in death September 7, 1997. Surviving is; One daughter; Janet and husband Glenn Stout of Volga Four Sons; Frederick W. and wife Mildred Haddix of Hinckley, OH Dennis Ray and wife Barbara Haddix of Rt. 1 Volga John Arthur and wife Judy Haddix of Oakwood Village, OH Richard Lee and wife Debbie Haddix of Point Marion, PA One sister; Alice LeMasters of Clarksburg One daughter-in-law; Janice Haddix of Lodi, OH 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren Mrs. Haddix was preceded in death by one son; Thomas Haddix, two brothers; Charles and Harry Stafford, one sister; Gladys Mink Mrs. Haddix was a homemaker and a member of the Queen's Chapel United Methodist Church. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Wednesday September 9, from 5-8:00 p.m. and on Thursday September 10, from 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. the service hour with Rev. Randy Simms officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery.
