  "Irene Stafford Flickinger, 93, of Ephrata died Monday, February 14, 2011 at the Denver Nursing Home. She was the wife of Willis Flickinger. The couple celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary on October 18th. Born in Earl Township, Irene was the daughter of the late Henry L. and Laura Elsie (Fox) Stafford. Irene worked at various textile jobs in the Ephrata area, including the making of parachutes during World War II. As a wife and mother, she enjoyed gardening, playing Bingo, cooking, baking, and helping others. She was a member of St. John's Center United Church of Christ, East Earl, PA where she enjoyed participating in the Women's Group, being a part of the Secret Sister program, and helping with the church Bazaar. For many years she was an active member of Eastern Star, Honey Brook Chapter. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son Glenn, husband of Ruth (Fleager), Reinholds and a daughter Joan, wife of Patrick Sensenig, Newmanstown. There are four grandchildren, Matthew Sensenig married to Beth (DalCin), Michael Flickinger married to Lindsay (Bachman), Aaron Flickinger married to Johanna (Engel), and Sara married to Patrick Kochel. She has six great grandchildren, Jordan and Justin Sensenig, Hayley, Harmony, and Gavin Kochel, and Nicodemus Flickinger. There are numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by one brother, George Stafford, and two sisters, Cora Wenger and Hilda Hornberger. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Paul, Frank, Raymond, and Henry Stafford.
