Belleville (KS) Telescope - 9 Oct 1986
Lila Viola Stafford Scott, the daughter of Lawson and Lula Larson Stafford, was born August 13, 1894, on a farm near Haigler, Nebr., and died October 6, 1986 at Brodstone memorial Nuckolls County Hospital at Superior, Nebr., at the age of 92 years, one month and 23 days.
She attended Triumph County school, then went to business college in Lincoln, Nebr.
She worked in a bank in Western Nebraska before returning to Hardy to work at the Bixby Grocery Store. She later went into business for herself, running a merchandise store.
She married Guy Scott and helped him run his business, Scott Funeral Home.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband in 1968; sisters, Dollie Stafford and Clara Brainard; brothers, Samuel Arthur, Earl William, Leland Oliver and Orland Lawson Stafford.
She is survived by two sisters; Mae Conzelman of Long Beach, Calif., and Eunice Stafford of Republic; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held October 9 at the Hardy Union Church, with Rev. Danny Jackson officiating. Interment was in Hardy Cemetery.
