Giles E. Mottl
Giles Eugene Mottl, son of Frank and Francis Krob Mottl, was born February
17, 1922 at Cuba and died June 2 at the Republic County Hospital in Belleville.
He was 80.
He attended White school and graduated from Cuba High School. He worked for United Airlines from 1940 to 1980.
He was united in marriage to Irene Stafford on July 17, 1940 at Chicago, IL and to this union two sons were born. On July 17, 2000, the Mottl's celebrated 60 years of marriage.
He and his family lived in Detroit, MI; Washington D.C.; Denver. CO; Valley Stream, NY; and lived 33 years in San Bruno, CA. They also had a home in the Cuba community for 23 years and for the past three years it was their primary home.
He was a member of the International Association of Machinists, the Retired United Pilots Association and the Cuba Presbyterian Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and his wife.
Survivors include his sons; Richard of Logan, NM and Kerry of Lynchburg, VA; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren and one sister, Dorothy
Fisher, Placentia. CA.
Funeral services were held June 4 at the Cuba Presbyterian Church with Reverends Bob and Sue Haseltine officiating.
