Richard Havel, son of Matilda Valek Havel and Lodis Havel, was born near Cuba May 4, 1915, and died at Bellevue, Nebr., October 24, 1980, at the age of 65 years, five months and 20 days. He attended grade school at Thomas District 114, and graduated from Cuba High School in 1934. On March 20, 1935, he was united in marriage to Oma Stafford of Cuba. To this union two sons were born. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Marlon. He is survived by his wife, Oma of Bellevue, Nebr.; sons Nelson of Portland, Ore., and David of Minneapolis, Min.; a granddaughter, Elizabeth of Minneapolis; four grandsons, David, Raymond, Edward of Portland, Matthew of Minneapolis; four aunts, Mrs. Eleanor Strickbine, Canon City, Colo.; Mrs. Olive Fojt, Cuba; Mrs. Mary Junek, Clyde; Mrs. Anna Bohling, Belleville. Funeral services were held at the Bellevue Baptist Church October 27, conducted by Pastors Paul Mathis and William J. Brown. Graveside services were at Kopsa Cemetery, Cuba, conducted by Pastor William J. Brown.
