  The Salt Lake Tribune Edson William Holmes, 66, of 450 Goshen, died in a Salt Lake hospital May 30, 1974. Born Aug. 8, 1907 in Byron, Nebraska to Leslie Everett and Bessie Gertrude Stafford Holmes. He married Una Gardner Jan. 13, 1948 at Belleville, Kansas. He was a carpenter, and member of the Pentecostal Church. Survivors: wife; foster son and daughter, Darrell R. Christensen, Selena Marie Holmes, both Salt Lake City; brothers and sisters, Andrew of Kelso, Wash.; Elmer of Republic, Kansas; Bill of Pacoima, Calif.; Lee of Byron, Nebraska; Kenneth of Chester, Neb.; Mrs. Robert (Marjorie) Robertson in Nebraska; and Mrs. Walter (Velma) Jones in Belleville, Kansas. Funeral services will be Monday at 1 p.m., 6500 S. Redwood Road, where friends may call Sunday from 6-8 p.m., or Monday an hour before services. Burial will be in Redwood Memorial Estates.
