Clara Boylan
Clara Ann Boylan, daughter of William and Clara Everts Stafford was born near Republic, September 10, 1889 and died in Superior, July 13, 1984 at the age of 94 years.
She attended school in Republic and taught elementary school there.
December 30, 1908, she was married to Carl K. Boylan at the home of her parents. Two children were born to this union. The couple farmed near Republic and Hardy until retiring and moving into Hardy. In 1972 they moved to the good Samaritan Center in Superior where they celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary in 1973.
She was a member of the Hardy Union Church where she instructed the adult bible class for several years. While at the Good Samaritan Center she participated in Bible study.
Preceding her in death were her husband, in August 1974; two brothers, Edward and Fred Stafford; two sisters, Lillie Stafford and Bessie Holmes.
She is survived by her children; Mrs. Donald (Eula) Pederson of Davenport, Nebr., and Cheslie of Scandia; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held July 17 at the Hardy Union Church, with the Rev. Richard Millikin officiating. Burial was in Washington Cemetery, Republic County, Kansas.
