Peg was a resident of Lonaconing at the time of her passing at the age of 90.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Lonaconing. She retired from Celanese Fibers Corp., and also worked at the Frostburg State Concession and the B & O Yard.
She volunteered at the Teen Club (Peg started the first Teen Club in Lonaconing MD at the VFW). She also volunteered at the following places, the Senior Centers, in both Westernport and Lonaconing, Devlin Manor, Moran Manor and Frostburg Village.
She was past President of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW, Lonaconing, and Past president of Lonaconing Senior Citizens 1995-1996.
She was a member of the Georges Creek Ambulance Service where she was chief dispatcher for over 20 years plus in the Georges Creek Area.
Peg was the heart of her family. She always had time and words of wisdom for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all.
She was the daughter of the late James McIntyre and Nellie (Russell) McIntyre. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Harry M. Stafford; sisters, Anna Keyes, Elizabeth Sandburg, Nellie McIntyre, Ida Mae Moyer and brothers David, Russell, Jimmy, Arthur, and Ernest McIntyre.
Peg is survived by her two daughters; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister; many nieces and nephews, and two special friends, Mildred and Anna.
