  Thomas Schofield entered his intentions of marriage to Avis Luther, both Residents of Freetown on March the 28th 1772. From the History of the town of Springfield, VT, Thomas Schofield took the Freeman's Oath in September and December, 1794. Tradition is that Thomas's father returned to England prior to the Rev. War and never retuned to the US. Thomas and Avis lived in Springfield, Windor, VT. Avis (Luther) Scofield D. in Palmyra, NY on 2 Jun 1815. From the History of the town of Springfield, VT.
