Velmer Janie Stafford, age 81, of Westmoreland, passed away Sunday, September 20, 2009, at NorthCrest Medical Center. She is survived by her sons, Nathan Earl Stafford, Jerry Allan Stafford and Jonathan Lee Stafford, all of Westmoreland; daughters, Margaret Helen Stafford of Nashville, Dorothy Jane Possin of Brandon, Wisc., Karen Clark of Castalian Springs, Tenn.; brothers, Maberry Tayse of Wisconsin, Sonny Tayse of Gallatin; sisters, Anna Dishman of Bethpage, Gail Odom of Bethpage; 13 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; one great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her husband, Nathan Lee Stafford; parents, Milton Lee and Delilah Mabery Tayse; brothers, James Tayse, Edward Tayse, Carroll Tayse and Frank Tayse; sisters, Ruby Stafford, Zephie Yates, Mable Pryor and Margaret Mouser. Visitation is 6 p.m., until 9 p.m., Monday, September 21, 2009, 10 a.m., until 9 p.m., Tuesday, and 10 a.m., until service time Wednesday. Funeral service is 2 p.m., Wednesday, September 23, 2009, from The Chapel of Woodard Funeral Home with Bro. Bertram Shearer officiating. Interment is at Crestview Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Adam Stafford, Andrew Stafford, Jerry Stafford, Steven Sexton, Kevin Clark, Billy W. Yates and Jacob Stafford. Mrs. Stafford was a member of Cottontown Church of Christ.
