SIDNEY — Marvin Stafford, 77, 114 W. Russell Road, Sidney, Ohio, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2015, at 8:05 a.m. of natural causes.
He was born Aug. 16, 1938, in Morehead, Kentucky, the son of Zora and Ina (Howard) Stafford and they are deceased. He was married to Mary Davidson on July 21, 1978, and she passed away on April 27, 2014.
Surviving is two daughters, Cynthia Brown, of Sidney, Ohio, Phyllis Phelps, of Quincy; four sons, Fred Stafford, of Camdenton, Missouri, Tony Stafford and wife, Rhonda, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, Brian Stafford and wife, Tracy, of Miamisburg, Ohio ,and Mike Covert, of Sidney, Ohio; two sisters, Sylvia Butler and husband, Curt, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, and Bessie Jent, of Morehead, Kentucky; and several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Three sisters and one brother are deceased.
He was a United States Army veteran and honorably discharged in 1963. He worked at Westinghouse in Bellefontaine, Ohio, for 11 years as a laborer and also worked in Abilene, Texas, for 19 years as a machinist and at Perfecto as a machinist and then retired from there. He enjoyed woodworking, trapshooting, bowling and golfing. He was a previous member of Full Gospel Church in Sidney.
