  Graduated from Townsend High School, Collins, Ohio, in 1922, he worked as an electronics engineer at Scott Radio and at Montgomery Ward & Co in Chicago IL from the late 1920s until his retirement in 1972 or 73. His occupation was deemed necessary to the war effort, and thus, he did not serve in the military during WWII. He married Rose Barbara Sanderville Myers and raised five children.
