JEANNE F. STAFFORD SOLIDAY passed away at Hospice of the Valley in Mesa, Arizona, on Wednesday, February 2, 2011, after a brief illness, she was 87.
Jeanne was born on March 24, 1923, to Brian and Marie Howard Stafford in Hayesville, Ohio. She graduated from Hayesville High School and attended Ashland College. After college, she began working in the offices of the Mansfield Tire and Rubber Company, where she met the love of her life, Chester M. "Jack" Soliday. They were married on September 7, 1946 at the Hayesville Methodist Church. In 1960 Jeanne began working at the former Mansfield Building and Loan as Treasurer and Assistant Secretary. She retired from there after 26 years in 1986. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she was a greeter. She was also a member of Ruth Circle, United Methodist Women, Altrusa Club, Eastern Star, BAKU Grotto Women's Auxillary amd the Mansfield Business and Professional Women Organization. Friends and family alike fondly remember her as Jeanne, "The Jello Queen."
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Chester M. "Jack" Soliday, son, Jack (Cindy) Soliday of Mansfield, daughter, Jill (Tony) Rasmussen of Chandler, Arizona; grandchildren, Jacob (Carrie) Soliday, Jeffery (fiancee Lisa Rynn) Soliday, Matthew (Katie) Soliday, Tyler Rasmussen and Julia Rasmussen; great granddaughter, Marlee Marie Soliday; brother, Richard (Elle) Stafford of Belleville, Kansas, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, step-father, Herbert Moss, brother, George Stafford, sister, Vivian Landried.
