STAFFORD, Clyde Jr., 70, of the Little Creek Community, Dublin, went to be with the Lord Sunday, January 16, 2000 from his home. He was born March 2, 1929 at Trigg, Va., the son of the late Leslie Clyde Stafford, Sr. and
Lillie Kate Riddle Stafford. He was a member of French's Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church for 53 years and had been their song leader and was a retired employee of the Celanese Fibers Corp. with 42 years service. He is
survived by his wife, Lena Combs Stafford; two sons and daughter-in-law, Bill Stafford of Dublin, David and Sheila Stafford of Pearisburg; three daughters and sons-in-law, Faye and Daniel Atkins of Cleveland, Ohio, Reba and Charles Harrell of Dublin, Betty and Rayburn Woodyard of High Point, N.C.; three brothers, Robert Stafford and Earnest Stafford, both of Trigg, Basil Stafford of Fairfax; four sisters, Hazel Higginbotham of Blacksburg, Mary Ann Stafford and Freida VanKeuren, both of Pearisburg, Janice Robertson of Greensboro, N.C.; twelve grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, White Gate with the Rev. Billy Akers officiating. Burial in Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. Visiting will be Tuesday after 1 p.m. at the funeral home and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
