  Thomas A. McInerney, M.D., son of Irish immigrants Thomas and Honore McInerney, was born February 13, 1908 in Chicago, Cook, Illinois. He met a young doctor, Edna Stafford from Oak Park, while they both working at St. Anne's hospital in Chicago. Shortly after their marriage on July 6, 1940, they moved to Escanaba, Delta, Michigan where they set up a medical practice and began raising their family. During the war Thomas served as a physician in the Army and his wife Edna maintained their medical practice until he returned. He continued serving the people of Escanaba until his death in 1973.
