L. Irene Stafford, 89 of Reese, died early Tuesday morning, March 1, 2005 at Tendercare of Frankenmuth. She was born on May 19, 1915 in Fairgrove Township, the daughter of the late James Hiel and Maude (Brownell) Stewart.
She married Nolan F. Stafford on June 2, 1934 in Gilford. He predeceased her on January 19, 1976. Irene was a wonderful homemaker and a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a life long member of the Gilford United Methodist Church and the Fairgrove Senior Citizens. She enjoyed crafts, traveling, playing bingo, playing cards and spending time with her family.
Surviving are her children and their spouses, Maxine Finkbeiner of Bay City; Mable Dimmick of Tuscola; Mildred Miller of AuGres; Ruth Stevenson of Pickford; Allan and Susan Stafford of Reese......a brother-in-law, LaMar Haines of Novi and a sister-in-law, Ruby Stewart of Bay City. In addition to her parents and husband, three grandchildren, two brothers, Ellis and Harold Stewart, and two sisters, Lucille Sharp and Bernice Haines, predeceased her....
