Marion Lee (Skooty) Poff, 69, of Pulaski, Va., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 24, 2010, at LewisGale Medical Center, Salem. He was born on July 17, 1940, at War, W.Va. He was preceded in death by his father, Roosevelt Poff; his stepfather, Keister S. Smith; his brother, William B. Poff; and his wife of 45 years, Lois Ann Stafford Poff. He served in the United States Air Force for 23 years, was a Vietnam War Veteran, and worked 21 years for Civil Service. He attended several local churches. He sorely missed his beloved wife, Lois, and was ready to go home to Heaven and join her. He was a loving husband, devoted father and Honored Veteran. He is survived by a son, Richard Lee (Ricky) Poff, of Oklahoma City, Okla.; his mother, Ruth P. Smith, of Peterstown, W.Va.; and two brothers, John M. Poff, of Charlotte, N.C., and Steven K. Smith, of Irmo, S.C. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 28, 2010, at the A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home, White Gate with the Rev. Leslie Shelton officiating. Military Graveside Rites at Birchlawn Burial Park, Pearisburg by Narrows VFW Post #6000, Narrows American Legion Post #68 and Pembroke American Legion Post #311. The visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 2
