  RADFORD - James William "Bill" Stafford Jr., 58, died Saturday, March 25, 2000, at his home.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Radford and was an instrumentation mechanic at Hercules for 19 years.  He was preceded in death by his father, James William Stafford Sr., and his sister, Ann Stafford Sutton. Survivors include his wife, Mildred "Mert" Umberger Stafford, Radford; his mother, Louise Wright Stafford, Radford; a stepson, Greg Kalka, Blacksburg.  Memorial services were held Tuesday, March 28, at the First Baptist Church in Radford, with Rev. Joe Burton and Dr. Charles Taylor officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Radford High School Bobcat Band or the Bobcat baseball team.
