It is with mixed emotions of sadness and joy that we announce the home going of our dear mother; Gladys Adams, age 90. She was a resident of Bogalusa, LA and an active member of Ben's Ford Baptist Church until the last 20 years of her life. She was then a resident of Baton Rouge, LA where she was a loved member of Istrouma Baptist Church. She was an LPN who trained in the first class offered by the Vo Tech School in Bogalusa.
Her Lord and Savior brought her home on Monday, July 23, 2012 where she was reunited with many dear loved ones including her husband, Homer Adams; her parents, Hezzie and Bertha Stafford; her in-laws, Mack and Ellen Adams; two sisters, Zellie Davis and Ouida Anthaume and many brothers and sisters-in-law. She especially looked forward to seeing her husband and mother-in-law again. She was very dear to her family and many friends who knew her to be kind and humble.
She is survived by a son, Ronald and his wife, Louise from Ruston, LA and two daughters, Bertha White from Baton Rouge, LA and Carla Lambright and husband Bruce from Brandon, MS. She had seven grandchildren, Adam White, Missy Hotard, Holly Rogers, Jody Adams, Jill Parkman, Haley Lee and Bart Lambright. She also was a great-grandmother to thirteen. She is also survived by a sister, Evelyn Scroggs and her husband Borde from Bogalusa, LA; a brother, William Lavell Stafford and wife Geri from Louisburg, Kansas; a sister-in-law, Juanita Adams from Dallas, TX and numerous nieces and nephews. We would like to express our gratitude for kindnesses and care given by the staff of Old Jefferson Community Care Center and Compassus Hospice and sitters who cared for her.
