Pearl Stafford, formerly of Pleasant Hill, Iowa, passed away May 4, 2017, at Valley View Village, Des Moines, Iowa, at the age of 99.
She was born December 28, 1917, to Andrew J. and Dora (Weaver) Reed in Polk City, Iowa.
Pearl was joined in marriage July 1, 1940, to Kenneth L. Stafford. To this union were born two daughters, Connie Bolton and Sharon Streeter.
She worked for Wright Lithographing and Printing in their bindery before retiring in 1980.
Among the many things she enjoyed were camping, square dancing, round dancing, crafting, sewing, traveling, and working with her flowers and in her garden. She liked watching the Chicago Cubs, NASCAR, and her grandson and great-grandchildren when they were in sports and band. She loved her time spent with family and friends.
Pearl is survived by her daughters, Connie (David) Bolton and Sharon Streeter; grandson, Ken (Shanda) Bolton; great-grandson, Jerry Bolton, and great-granddaughter, Shelby Bolton; special and long-time friends, Bub and Carol Van Dyke and their family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, parents, sister, Beulah Reed; sister and brother-in-law, Mary (Jacob) Bishop; brother and sister-in-law, Andrew E. (Peggy) Reed; and son-in-law, Lyle Streeter.
Funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Monday evening at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
