James “Henry” Stafford, 66, of Taylorsville, passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at Iredell Memorial Hospital.
Born February 4, 1949, in Iredell County, he was the son of the late Avery and Luda Pope Stafford. Henry retired from Alexander Trucking after 49 years of service, and was a member of Millersville Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Paul Stafford, A.J. Stafford, Frank Stafford, and John Stafford; and four sisters, Muriel Stafford, Ruth Stafford Kerley, Linda Stafford McAlpin, and Elizabeth (Beth) Stafford Carver.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 20 years, Bobbie Shoemaker Stafford; two sons, Jay Henry Stafford of Taylorsville, and David Kidd and wife Michelle of Yadkinville; two sisters, Gertrude Millsaps of Taylorsville, and Nellie (Nell) Fulbright of Hickory; and four grandsons.
A service to celebrate Henry’s life will be held on Friday, October 16, 2015, at 4:00 p.m., at Millersville Baptist Church. Rev. Larry Blakley, Rev. Bill Orren, and Rev. Brian Kerley will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 16, 2015, from 2:45 to 3:45 p.m., at Millersville Baptist Church.
