  SWANNANOA – Eugene "Gene" Addison Stafford, 79 a long time resident of Swannanoa went home to be with the Lord on December 22, 2007.  He was the son of the late Conrad and Charlotte Burleson Stafford. Gene proudly served his Country in the Regular US Army.  With his home going, he leaves his beloved church, The First Baptist Church of Swannanoa. Gene, also leaves his wife, Nina K. Stafford, siblings; HC (Ruth), Ray (Emogene), and Zelda, children Brenda (Ron), Sandy (Howe), Vickie, Bill, Sue, Henry (Connie), Richard (Joy), and Luanne (Scot), 20 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. Gene's family includes several very close nieces and nephews.
