  Joe Mae Burleson, age 95, of Minneapolis, went Home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 15, 2007 at the Brian Center in Spruce Pine.  A native of Avery County, she was a daughter of Joe Stafford and Bessie Burleson Stafford Pittman, but was raised by her grandparents, Zeb and Tensie Burleson.  Joe Mae was the wife of Rob Burleson. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Loutensie Burleson, an infant son, Harold Burleson; sons: R. Z. Burleson and Joe Burleson and a grandson, Keith Burleson.  Joe Mae was of the Baptist faith who attended Minneapolis Baptist Church. She was a homemaker who loved to cook, garden and quilt.
