  Shirley Louise Stafford Duckett, 69, of Hickory, passed away, Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Caldwell Hospice in Hudson. Born June 13, 1947 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Luther and Annie Mae Smith Stafford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Allen Duckett. Shirley was of the Lutheran faith and enjoyed volunteering with American Red Cross. She is survived by her children: James Duckett and wife Linda Gail of Hickory, NC, Sherri Gunasekera and husband Joseph of Beaver Creek, OH, Randy Duckett and wife Miccah of Granite Falls, NC, Andrew Duckett and wife Irma of Silverdale, WA; two sisters: Eula Mae Stafford Elliott of Granite Falls, NC, Jan Lynch of Rutherfordton, NC; 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
