  Obituary  Kernersville – Mr. Jerrell Eugene Stafford, Sr. passed away Monday, April 11, 2016. He was born August 17, 1933 in Kernersville, NC to Kenneth and Mildred Stafford. He graduated from Kernersville High School and Guilford College. He served in the US Army for 2 years. Upon returning to civilian life, he worked as a packing engineer at Western Electric, AT&T, and Lucent Technologies for 39 years. He was an active member of Union Cross Baptist Church for many years. He was always very interested in politics and worked at the polls for over 50 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, K. Stanley Stafford. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Ethel Hayes Stafford; his daughter, Jennie Stafford Buckner (Michael); his son, Jerrell Eugene Stafford, Jr. (Lori); his grandchildren, Rebekah Buckner DeCamillis (Mason), Garrison Stafford, Grace Stafford, and Samuel Stafford. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Union Cross Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis Hester officiating. Burial will follow at Bunker Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 pm on Wednesday, April 13, at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel.
