• Notes

  Boyd was a graduate of Kernersville Academy and Greensboro College. In 1925, she helped organize the first Kernersville PTA and served as its president. She was a daughter-in-law of W.C. Stafford and she took over the operation of his store when he died in 1934. In 1970, Boyd received the Business and Professional Women's "Woman of the Year Award". In 1971, she received the Chamber of Commerce Award for outstanding service.
