AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest on Monday, July 8, 2002, Mrs. Marie Hodgin Stafford, 85, at her daughters residence. Graveside services for Mrs. Stafford will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2002, in the Summerfield United Methodist Church Cemetery, Summerfield, N.C. A Guilford County native, Mrs. Stafford was born September 6, 1916, the daughter of Victor and Maude Kidd Hodgin. She was the widow of Mr. Robert (Bob) Stafford who died in 1992. Before retiring, she was office manager for Dr. Hardin, and was a member of Summerfield United Methodist Church. Surviving her are her son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Sheila Stafford of Norwood, N.C.; daughter, Bonnie Welch of Augusta; brother, Harvey Hodgin of Baltimore, Md.; three grandsons, Chris, Darryl and Michael Stafford and six great- grandchildren. The family will receive friends this Wednesday evening from 7 until 9 p.m., at Brooke Funeral Home, Stokesdale, N.C. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Guilford County, 4527 W. Wendover Ave., Greensboro, NC, or to American Cancer Society, 4-A Oak Branch Drive, Greensboro, NC 27407. Hatcher Funeral Home, Augusta is in charge of local arrangements.
