Mrs. Helen Louise Stafford Davis, 76, resident of Kernersville, died May 18th, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center.
Mrs. Davis was born June 25th, 1936 in Asheville, NC, a daughter to the late Ivy Kenyon and Sophia Helena Berghouser Stafford. She was a resident of this area 52 years and was a member of Oak View Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and in earlier years worked as a registered nurse. Her husband, Don Davis, survives of the residence. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by granddaughter, Rachel Davis; and a sister, Betsy Sue Haney.
Also surviving are two sons, Mike Davis and wife Karen of Wake Forest, NC and Dan Davis and wife Donna of Kernersville, NC; a sister, Ann Reece of Lillington, NC; a brother, Ivy Kenyon "Ken" Stafford Jr. of Salem, VA; and a grandson, Zachary Davis of Kernersville, NC.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of the Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point with Rev. Steve Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Deep River Friends Meeting Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Runners for Africa, 4105 Field Oak Dr. Wake Forest, NC 27587 or to the missionary organization of the donor's choice.
