Stewart Stafford, 33, of Old Fort, N.C. passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Memorial Mission Hospital surrounded by his family.
He was born October 6, 1977 in Burke County, N.C.
Stewart was a veteran of the United States Navy for four years having served during Iraqi Freedom. He was a member of the New Testament Baptist Church and he loved to fish as a hobby.
He is also preceded in death by his maternal great-grandmother, Nadine Dennis; his maternal grandparents, J.W. Piercy and Carolyn Maxwell; and his paternal grandfather, Robert W. Stafford, Sr.
Surviving are his beloved son, Gabriel Michael
Stafford of Old Fort; his wife, Lisa Marie Bradley Stafford of Old Fort, NC; his father, Wayne S. Stafford, Sr. and wife, Angie of Old Fort, NC; his mother, Debbie Piercy of Old Fort, NC; his paternal grandmother, Mary Stafford; two brothers, Wesley Stafford and wife, Natalie of Kodiak, Alaska and Nick Stafford and wife, Christa of Old Fort; one step-brother, Travis Privett and wife, Theresa of Canton, NC; nieces and nephews, Cason, Carissa and Landon Stafford; aunts and uncles, Greg Piercy of Old Fort, Mary Lewis and husband, Donald of Old Fort, Sarah Hamilton and husband, Jimmy of Concord, NC and Bobby Stafford of Charlotte, NC.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at Kirksey Funeral Chapel in Old Fort.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 19, 2011 at the Funeral Chapel.
Burial will follow at Old Fort City Cemetery.
