Funeral services for Peggy S Stafford, Southport, NC, formally of Norfolk, NY on Jun 30, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church, Norfolk. Burial in Lakeview Cemetery, Willsboro, NY. Mrs. Stafford passed away May 27 2018 at Autumn Care in Shallotte, NC. Peggy is survived by four children; Barbara and Bruce Capron, Westernville, NY; Kathryn and Paul Cooley, Southport NC; Richard and Sasha Stafford, Spencerport NY; Carolyn and James Kennedy, Canandaigua NY; 8 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Peggy was predeceased by husband, Raymond W Stafford in 2013 and two brothers, Edward Smith and L Robert Smith and one sister, Virginia Benedict. Born in Willsboro NY on Mar 20 1931 to L Foster and Cora Culver Smith; she graduated from Willsboro Central School in 1949 and a 1953 graduate of Albany State University and received a Master of Science from Potsdam State University in 1971. Peggy was a retired teacher. She was life member of the Thousand Islands girl scout Council, a Cub Scout den leader, and a Senior Scout Troup leader, Raquette Valley Day Camp Director, and very involved in the United Methodist Church roles and the UMW and participated in the Walk to Emmaus.
