Betty Redfield, 97, passed away March 18, 2010 at the Cortland Care Center. Betty was born in the Cortland area and lived here all her life. She was one of nine children born to Anna and Clarence Stafford. Betty was married in 1930 to Robert T. Redfield and was widowed 39 yrs. She was active for many years at the Homer Ave. Methodist Church and was a member of the Willing Workers. She also belonged to King's Daughters. Betty traveled to Hawaii, California, Texas, Florida, Canada, and many other places with the Willa Mae travel group. She lived in her own home until age 94, and then moved to the Elizabeth Brewster House in Homer. Her final residence was the Cortland Care Center. She is survived by her daughters Roberta (David) Robinson of Homer NY, Barbara (Frank) Elges of Pagaso Springs CO, four grandchildren Susan, Steve, John, and Lisa, ten great grandchildren, sister Eleanor Randall of Florida, sister in law Lois Stafford of Cortland, dear friend Sally White of Cortland. A family graveside service will be held Monday 1 pm at the Scott Union Cemetery, Scott, NY.
