CLOT FATAL TO MR. STAFFORD
Former Red Creek Man Dies in Fair Haven
Allison J. Stafford, 79, well known Fair Haven resident and former Red Creek business man and farmer, died at his home Tuesday morning. Coronary thrombosis was the cause of death.
Mr.Stafford was born in Fenner, Madison county, Oct. 28, 1870, the son of David and Elizabeth Stafford, former Fair Haven residents. When he was very young he came with his family to Fair haven and later spent 52 years in Red Creek where he was connected with the J.W. Moore farm produce concern and later in the coal business. He owned and lived on the John Moore farm until about 11 years ago when he made his home in Fair Haven. He retired from active business in Red Creek 32 years ago.
He was a member of the Red Creek Methodist church and at one time a member of the Odd Fellows.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nellie Marvin Stafford; one son, Jay Stafford, Red Creek postmaster; four grandchildren, Norman Stafford and Mrs. Mary Craine of Red Creek, Mrs. Reva Thomas of North Rose and Allison Stafford Jr., of Norfolk, Va.; seven great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Millie Brown of Fair Haven; several nieces and nephews.
