  Jess C. Shoemaker, 69, of 205 Center St., died in Tompkins County Hospital. Born in Scranton, he was a son of the late Daniel and Pearl Tobey Shoemaker. Mr. Shoemaker was the owner of Ithaca Sporting Goods Store, Eddy Street from 1945 to 1957. Since 1958, he was an administrative assistant in the Physical Biological Radiation Dept., Cornell University. He was survived by his wife, Mrs. Mildred Stafford Shoemaker; two brothers, Daniel W. Shoemaker, Ithaca and Francis Shoemaker, Freeville; nieces and nephews. Burial, Vestal Hills Memorial Park. Information from: The Ithaca Journal January 10 & 11, 1977
