Ruth Elizabeth Stafford, 81, of Syracuse, NY died Sunday at University Hospital. Born in Cortland, NY, she was the daughter of the late Verden and Claribel (Lape) Fries. She was predeceased by her husband, James R. Stafford in 2008. Ruth is survived by her son, Kurt Stafford of LaFayette, NY; daughter, Susan Moran of Rockville, MD; three sisters, Rhoada Bartosiewicz of Orchard Park, NY, Etta Kershaw of Melbourne, FL and Mary Ann Honcharuk of Mauldin, SC; five granddaughters, Shannon Stankus of Schenectady, NY, Kala R. Stafford of Houghton, NY, Sage Allen of Syracuse, NY, Brianna Allen Lyons of Syracuse, NY and Lindsey Barnson of Las Vegas, NV; numerous nieces and nephews. Burial will be in the spring at LaFayette Rural Cemetery.
