"Cleon A. Stevens, 77, died early this morning, Oct 3, 1977 in the Cortland Memorial Hospital.
A local resident all of his life, he lived at 125 Groton Ave., Cortland. He was born Oct 28, 1899 in the town of Solon, the son of Clark and Addie Richer Stevens.
He was retired from the state University College of Cortland where he had been employed for 17 years. He owned his own dairy farm for many years. He was married Feb. 15, 1919.
Mr. Stevens is survived by his wife, Iva Stafford Stevens; two sons, Leslie Stevens of Freeville and Robert S. Stevens of Cortland; two daughters, Mrs. Lloyd (Laura) Woodward of Homer and Mrs. Elmer (Cecil) Goehner of Dryden; 14 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 pm Wednesday at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home in Cortland with the Rev. Wiley White officiating. Burial will bein McGraw Rural Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 pm Tuesday."
