Funeral services for Edna J. Burnham Stafford, 93, who died Sunday, August 22 in Syracuse, were held at the Hall Funeral Home, Wednesday, August 25. Mrs. Stafford died at the Plaza Nursing Home after a long illness. Burial was in LaFayette Cemetery. Mrs. Stafford lived in Tully since 1965 with her husband, Fred, who died in 1973. Before moving to Tully the couple lived in Syracuse for 40 years where Mr. Stafford was a communications engineer for the New York telephone Company. Born in Homer, Mrs. Stafford was the daughter of John R. & Lena VanPatten Burnham. As a charter member Onondaga Casting Club, Mrs. Stafford along with her husband demonstrated fishing casting throughout the country including preparations for the New York State Fair. She is survived by 2 nephews, John Herrick of Palos Verdes Penninsula, California, and William Herrick of Vero Beach, Fla.; and several cousins.
