Gene M. Stafford, 82, of Marcellus, passed away Monday July 1, 2013 at Rosewood Heights. Born in Auburn, to the late Francis and Edwina Ide, Gene worked in the billing department at Community General Hospital. She was a veteran of the Air Force serving during the Korean Conflict. She formerly volunteered at Community General Hospital, and the Marcellus Library. Gene was predeceased by her husband, James in 1990. Gene is survived by her daughter, Laurie Stafford of Rome; son, Robert (Kim) Stafford of Pennellville; sister, Betty Cottrell of Elbridge; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, July 27 at the Plis Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will be in Highland Cemetery, Marcellus. Calling hours will be from Noon to 1 p.m. Saturday July 27, 2013 prior to the service at the funeral home, 33 North St., Marcellus. Contributions may be made to the 441 W.
