DOROTHY FARLEY STAFFORD After Long Illness In Florida
Mrs. Dorothy Farley Stafford, formerly of Manlius, died at her home in Sebastian, Fla., after a long illness.
Born Dorothy Stark at Higginsville, Oneida County, October 8, 1899, she received her early education at Paradise Hill and Oneida. She graduated from Buffalo Secretarial School and her first position was secretary to State Senator Brown of Chenango County.
She was executive secretary to the president of Revere Brass and Copper in New York City prior to moving to Manlius in 1941. She was secretary to the late Arthur G. Chase, president of Precision Casting Co., until his retirement from the company.
Her husband, Charles Farley, who died in 1928 was an undertaker in Oneida. She married Harry Stafford in 1952 and after his retirement as assistant plant manager of Precision Castings, they moved April 1, 1970 to their retirement home in Florida.
Mrs. Stafford was a member of First Baptist Church, Manlius, Archie Can Patten Post American Legion Auxiliary, the Fayetteville Grange and Madison County Historical Society.
She is survived by her husband, two sons, Charles M. Farley of Manlius and Donald H. Farley of Winter Park, Fla.; a sister, Eunice Stark Nordquest of Harrisburg, Pa., a brother, Charles B. Stark Sr., of Manlius; five grandchildren and a great grandchild.
Services were held in Florida. Contributions may be made to the Dorothy Stafford Memorial Fund at First Baptist Church of Manlius.
