jlberzins 1880 Census Data: On the 1880 census, Hiram Goff, age 60, is living at 48 Exchange Street, Geneva, Ontario Co., New York with his wife, Ruth A. age 60, and their grandson, George Davis, age 8. George is the son of Eleanor Davis and Germain Davis. Also residing in the house is Germain's mother, Sarah M. Davis, age 49, listed as a widow and her two youngest children, Walter, age 18, and Mary B., age 12. Hiram's occupation is listed as canal boatman. Walter is an apprentice boiler maker. Mary B. is in school as is George.It is interesting to note that George (the grandson) is also enumerated with Germain and Elinor at their residence, along with another son, Frank C., age 6.

jlberzins Moses Merrill Tyler was a railroad conductor and was involved and implicated in horriffic train accident and was jailed. He was sentenced to jail. This why there is no divorce.
