PLATTSBURGH - Katherine Stafford Miller, 76, of Stafford Drive, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 13, at the Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility.
Mrs. Miller was born in Plattsburgh on Dec. 15, 1923, the daughter of Elmer and Cora (Stratton) Stafford. She married Ralph W. Miller on Feb. 22, 1946. He passed away on Sept. 25, 1995.
Kay graduated from Plattsburgh High School and received bachelors and masters degrees in education from Plattsburgh State. She was a Home Economics teacher for 35 years, mostly at Saranac High School, retiring in 1980. She was a member of the Plattsburgh United Methodist Church and actively involved in the United Methodist Women. She also served on the administrative board and the staff-parish relations committee.
She is survived by a son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter, Andrew S. Miller, Theresa LaPoint-Miller and Elizabeth LaPoint of Clifton Park; two sisters and brothers-inlaw, Jane and Frank Hamilton of Lake Worth, Fla., and Ruth and Clifford Bates of Peru; and many other cherished relatives.
A memorial service will be held on saturday, Sept. 23, 2000, at 1 p.m. in the Plattsburgh United Methodist Church, followed by a reception in the church social hall where the family may be greeted.
Donations may be made in her memory to the United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 127 Beekman Street, Plattsburgh, NY 12901.
