Willsboro - Spencer R. Stafford, Jr., 37, of NYS Route 22, Willsboro, died unexpectedly, Thursday, February 16, 2012 at his home.
He was born in Plattsburgh, August 21, 1974, the son of Spencer R., Sr. and Eleanor J. (Flora) Stafford.
Spencer grew up in Willsboro and graduated from Willsboro High School in 1992. He was a well known local welder and mechanic having learned the trade from his father. He worked for David's Repair Service in Peru for many years.
Spencer loved working on engines and welding, in his spare time. He enjoyed cutting wood, skidooing, working on his tractor and competing in tractor pulls, but his true love was spending time with friends, visiting over a few beers.
Survivors include his children, Skiler Rae Stafford, Spencer Ross Stafford, III, Sterlin Ryan Stafford, Sadie Renee Stafford, and Sayge Rylee Stafford; special friend, Melissa Huff of Willsboro; his parents, Spencer and Eleanor Stafford of Willsboro; one sister, Samantha Rae Stafford and her companion, John Podmore of Lincoln Ponds Heights; one nephew, Marcus; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was predeceased by maternal grandparents, Claude and Dorothy Flora; paternal grandparents, Walter and Doris Stafford; two uncles, John Flora and his wife Stella, and Tom Flora; and one aunt, Jane Garvey.
Calling hours will be held Saturday, February 18, 2012 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A celebration of his life with follow at 7 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home. Burial will be held at a later date in the Flora Family plot in the Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to his mother, Eleanor Stafford, to be saved for his children's education. Contributions may be mailed to 53 Maple Street, Willsboro, NY 12996.
Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru.
