Mary J. Renshaw, 86, of Upper Pittsgrove passed away on July 6, 2016. Born in New Hampshire, Mrs. Renshaw was the daughter of James & Beatrice (Howland) Stafford.
Throughout her life, Mary was a very active member of the Christ Community Baptist Tabernacle Church. It was here that she developed, nourished and fed her faith. Mrs. Renshaw did this not only through attending but also by participating. She played the piano there for forty-plus years and she and a group of kids, hers included, calling themselves the "Harmonares" would go out and play at various Christian venues on Sunday nights. Not only was she an example to her family but also she encouraged many throughout the years as she walked her journey of life.
Her husband Maurice J. Sr., son, Maurice "Wink" J. Jr., siblings, Virginia Stafford, Beatrice Haley and Ida Downs, as well as many more family members, her church family and friends survive her. In addition to her parents, her son Danny V. Renshaw and three siblings, Thomas Stafford, Danny Stafford and Betty Wilson, predeceased her.
Services for Mrs. Renshaw will be held at the church, Christ Community Baptist Tabernacle, 188 Rt. 40, Upper Pittgrove, NJ on Monday, July 11, 2016. The viewing will begin at 10 AM with the service following at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Olivet Cemetery in Pittsgrove. Adams Funeral Home
