My Grandfather was born in Alabama, where his mother had grown up. When he was young he moved to Charlemont Mass with his parents and brother.
He met his wife in school in the small town where they both lived.
When he married his school sweetheart, his father in law gave him a piece of his land. Horace built a house upon this land and lived there until his death.
Horace built and opened the 1st gas station in Charlemont Mass. Later he opened a car repair garage and sold the station. Repairing cars was his living for the remainder of his life.
Horace had 1 daughter, whom he participated in her parade events.
His daughter gave him 3 grand children, to whom he was more like a father figure.
In his earlier years, he helped to maintain the graveyard grounds where he now resides.
