Martin (M. O.) Wheeler, passed away in a local nursing home on Monday, December 23, at the age of 84.
Born April 13, 1890 he was the son of the late Martin Vanburen and Sarah Justice Wheeler.
Mr. Wheeler was a lawyer, member of the Kentucky Bar Association and member of the Men's Bible Class at the First Methodist Church in Paintsville.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mae Stafford Wheeler on July 18, 1951.
Surviving are 3 daughters, Mary Jo Wynn of Paintsville; Helen Martin Barthlolmew of Lexington and Sara Kay Wilmore of West Palm Beach,Fl; 1 brother, Laney Wheeler of Detroit;
6 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren.
Reverend W.A.E.mJohnson officiated at the funeral services for Mr.Wheeler, held in the First United Methodist Church in Paintsville.Interment was in Mayo Cemetery in Paintsville with Jones-Preston Funeral Home in charge.Pallbearers for Mr. Wheeler were local attorneys Howes Johnson, Mike Schmitt, Owen Doyle, G.C.Perry, James Knight, Bob Mullins and Eugene Rice.
